Refractory Cytopenia with Unilineage Dysplasia (RCUD)
Clinical signs
- unilineage dysplasia affecting erythropoiesis
(refractory anemia — RA), granulopoiesis
(refractory neutropenia — RN) or
megakaryocytes (refractory thrombocytopenia — RT),
at least 10% of a given lineage should be affected
- all other causes of non-clonal dysplastic changes must be excluded
- the number of myeloblasts in bone marrow is less than 5%
- prognosis: approximately 6% of patients develop AML,
median survival time is approx. 66 months
Histology
The number of myeloblasts in bone marrow is less than 5%.
