When you visit our Web Site, you may provide us with two types of information: (1) personally identifiable information that you knowingly choose to disclose (registration) and (2) general user information that does not contain personally identifiable information, which is collected on an aggregate basis as you browse the Web Site. Personally Identifiable Information You Choose to Provide
If you register over the identity federation, we will store your unique identifier sent by your home institution. The format of the identifier depends on your home institution policy, if you are interested how the identifier looks like, please, contact administrators from your home institution.
If you are not member of any connected identity federation, we will ask you to provide your nickname, which will be used as a login for restricted part of the Atlases.
In both cases we require your email address, which can be used only for three purposes. The first one, if you register without using identity federation, we will sent you an email with a password, which will be used together with your nickname to login in to the Atlases, in order to see high-resolution images. The second purpose, when you agree to be notified about Atlases changes. And finally the third one, in case of emergency situation, for example, your account has been compromised or planned and unplanned technical changes in the Atlases, which may affect your interaction with the Atlases.
All information are stored in the database, which is secured. We do not provide these information to any third-party.
If you would like to remove your account at Atlases, write a request in English to email@example.com. The request must be sent from the e-mail address which was used during the registration.
Non-Personally Identifiable Information We Collect
Cookies/ Web server logs: Similar to other commercial Web sites, our Web Site utilizes standard technology called "cookies" and Web server logs to collect information about how our Web Site is used. Cookies are a feature of Web browser software that allows Web servers to recognize the computer used to access a Web site. Cookies are small pieces of data that are stored by a user's Web browser on the user's hard drive. Information gathered through cookies and Web server logs may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, time spent at our Web Site, and the Web sites visited just before and just after our Web Site.
