Indirect immunofluorescence
Introduction

Indirect immunofluorescence is used especially in diagnosing autoimmune diseases. The antibody from the serum of a patient reacts with substrate (animal or human tissues, cell cultures).

One of the most common tests in dermatology is detection of antibodies against nuclear antigens (ANA), epidermal antigens in vesicular diseases, agains endomysium and against the cytoplasm of neutrophils. The results can be influenced by selection of antigenic substrate.
