BAP-1 negative melanocytic nevus
Etiology, pathogenesis

Sporadic or familiar mutation in tumor suppressor gene BAP-1 leads to increased risc of developing certain tumors (melanoma of the skin or uvea, mesothelioma, clear cell renal carcinoma and others).

Histology

Such nevi consist of large epitheloid melanocytes, often multinucleted. Mitotic activity is usually low.
